User Experience Design & Prototyping

Manuvo wanted me to design a website that effectively communicate the Manuvo brand and values, is user-friendly and secure, and provide relevant resources and tools for social and environmental activism, including its commitment to promoting cultural exchange, social , and reducing inequality. Manuvo is a technology company that transforms cultural resources into applications and digital media, making them accessible for people from marginalised communities around the world. Manuvo believes that this sharing of cultural knowledge can lead to social change, help fight inequality, elevate those in need and tackle climate change.

Challenge

Redesigning a website involves multiple challenges, including understanding the existing site's structure and functionality to ensure cultural sensitivity, preserving brand elements while modernizing the site's appearance for effective content management, improving navigability to enhance user experience and make information easily accessible, and implementing responsive design to ensure the website functions efficiently across various devices and platforms.

Objective

The first step in designing the Manuvo website was to conduct research on the target audience and their needs. The target audience for Manuvo is diverse and includes people from different cultural backgrounds, ages, and regions. Therefore, the website design needed to be inclusive, user-friendly, and accessible to all. To get a better understanding of the audience, I conducted surveys and focus groups. The survey questions aimed to gather information about the users' cultural background, interests, and their reasons for visiting the website. The focus groups allowed us to gain insights into the users' experience and identify pain points.

Results

With the research findings in mind, I started the design process for Manuvo website. The design phase involved creating wireframes, user flows, and prototypes. Wireframes were created to determine the layout and content of the website. The wireframes helped me to organize the information and ensure that the website was easy to navigate. I also created user flows to understand the user's journey and identify any pain points. The user flows helped me to optimize the website's navigation and make it more intuitive.
